About the farmer and farm

The Ngororero washing station is located in Rwanda's Western Province, next to Matyazo station, at 1616 meters above sea level.

The farms supplying cherry sit at 1600–2000 meters, growing mostly the Bourbon variety.

1,405 producers work with the station through RWACOF (Sucafina in Rwanda), which invests in yield improvement, farmer training, and environmental sustainability.

Purchases of this lot support RWACOF's "Coffee Productivity & Income Diversification" project, which aims to boost incomes for coffee farming families.

Processing: natural

Cherry is received at the station, where lower-quality fruit is first removed by flotation. Specially trained staff hand-inspect the rest afterward for visible defects.

After sorting, the cherries are sun-dried on raised beds for 4 weeks, turned and sifted regularly to remove imperfections and ensure even drying.
