About the farmer and farm
This coffee is grown in the Kiambu region and reaches the washing station from local farmers. Despite recent challenges, they continue producing high-quality coffee.
This lot is made up of the SL28 and SL34 varieties. Both are typical of the region and a hallmark of the well-known Kenyan cup profile.
Processing: washed
The cherries are hand-picked and sorted.
Mechanical depulping follows, partially removing the fruit flesh.
The beans are fermented in tanks for 8–16 hours. This allows natural microbial activity to break down any remaining mucilage.
They're finally washed with clean water and dried on African beds for 14–20 days.
