About farmer and farm:

Bona Zuria washing station is located in Bona Zuria village where the towering altitudes of 2,000 to 2,330 meters above sea level make the ideal conditions for coffee cultivation.

This altitude used to be too high for coffee cultivation but recent changes in temperature from climate change has made it possible to grow coffee here.

Process: carbonic maceration

Farmers selectively handpick cherry and deliver it to the washing station.

Then sorted and placed in sealed container with CO2 increased environment, where fermantation begins.

Because the skins of the cherry is left intact, fermentation may take days or weeks.

Once fermentation is complete, cherry is removed, washed in clean water and laid on raised beds to dry.

Drying coffee is raked regularly to ensure even drying.
